Hospice patient, Stonewall participant gets Pride wish

Many of you are familiar with LGBTQ scholarly publisher Harrington Park Press for their books such as the recent first ever “Introduction to Transgender Studies” textbook, “Gay & Bisexual Men Living with Prostate Cancer” and the award winning “LGBTQ-Inclusive Hospice and Palliative Care” guide for healthcare professionals.

This past Sunday, a donation from Harrington Park Press made it possible for an original Stonewall uprising participant and MJHS Health System* hospice patient named Alex to attend the Pride Parade in New York City.

See photos and read the deeply touching account of Alex’s day on MJHS Health System’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages.

*MJHS is one of the largest non-for-profit health systems in the region. Their services include home care, hospice and palliative care, rehab and nursing care (Isabella & Menorah), and the research-based MJHS Institute for Innovation and Palliative Care.
